There can't be any height of spiritualism nor for showing our love and affection to the almighty. That will be more true when you witness some the statues listed below.

India as a country where majority of the people are Hindus; worshiping idols of the lord has been going on for centuries. That is also reflected in the below. The below list has three statues of Hanuman, two of Lord Shiva, two or Guru Rinpoche, and one each of Buddha, Lord Ganesha, and Saint Thiruvalluvar (Poet and Philosopher).

Currently the list is ruled by the statue of Shiva in Hyderabad. But it won't remain at the top a few years from now as a massive statue known as "Statue of Unity" which would be of Sardar Vallabhai Patel (597 ft) is coming in Gujarat. The proposed statue would become the largest statue of the world surpassing Buddha Statue of Spring temple in China. Another one such proposed structure is of Buddha in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh which would be of 500 ft once completed making it the biggest Buddha statue in the world.

From the tourism point of view such statues bring forward a better image of the place and attract large number of tourist which ultimately brings employment and helps in betterment of the society.

So do you wonder where is the largest Ganesh idol. No its not in Mumbai, nor in Pune, it is in Kolhapur!

The colorful looking Ganesha statue depicts the lord in the most usual form with four hands and a five-headed snake.

Our very own "Statue of Liberty", the setting of the statue seems similar to the one in New York. Located in the middle of a small island in Kanyakumari where the Bay of Bengal, Indian ocean, and the Arabian sea meet.

The statue is of ancient poet and philosopher which just illuminates at the night because of the giant lights installed in front of it. Seeing from a distance won't suffice you, go visit the magnificent wonder.

Har ki Pauri is a famous ghat on the banks of the holy river Ganga. This is one of the places where scores of devotees of Shiva come to take His blessings.

The statue depicts showing Shiva with a trishul in a hand and the other hand for showering blessings to the devotees. Truly a sight to see!

Nandura is a town much known for the Hanuman statue than anything else. Being close to the National highway and the rail lines, you never know you might someday unknowingly see the statue while you are travelling through the dusty lanes of this town.

The statue is 32 meters high and it feels heavenly to witness the gigantic sculpture.

Presently the tallest Buddha statue in India. The statue is located in a town known as Clement, in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. It is one of the six mindrolling centres, actually pronounced as minhdrohlyn, meaning Place of Perfect Emancipation.

The place is now one of the major centers of Buddhist education. There is a college where one can study and practice teachings of Buddha and also many cultural activities are regularly organized.

Sculpted to perfection the Hanuman statue is a recent creation which was completed in 2010.The statue can actually be seen from many parts of Shimla and is a further boost to the tourism of Himachal Pradesh.

Also according to legends this is the place where Hanuman stopped and asked Acharya Drona about the magical herb Sanjiveeni to save Laxman.

Another statue of Guru Rinpoche located in Namchi in Sikkim also founds a mention in the list. The place is famous among Buddhist and is one of the major pilgrimage center in Sikkim.

The statue was opened for public in 2004 and the tourist visiting the place have since then only increased.

The lord Shiva's statue at the banks of the Arabian sea in the town of Murudeshwar, Andhra Pradesh. The town's name is because of the statue itself. This is also the largest Shiva statue in India and the second largest in the world, first one being in Nepal.

There is also a temple nearby dedicated to lord Shiva and the whole area makes for some good photography session. And if you are painter then don't forget to bring your canvas.

Also known as the second Buddha, Guru Rinpoche helped preached and spread Buddhism in Tibet and Bhutan. At 123 ft it is the second largest statue which is located in Himachal Pradesh near the Rewalsar lake. The statue is nearly 4,000 feet above sea level.

There are also some Buddhist monasteries and Hindu temples near the Rewalsar lake. The place is frequented by Buddhist and Hindus.

This statue of Hanuman is located in a small village in the Krishna district near to Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. The statue is the largest statue in India and also the largest Hanuman statue anywhere in the world.

The tall standing Hanuman statue was completed in 2003 and attracts many tourist both foreigners as well as domestic.

These were the biggest statues in India.

The Standing Buddha at Dehradun is Kagyu Monastery not of mindrolling monastery.
